Actually, there is other BSs on another local bus line. This one is only one service every hour, but it should be less crowded.

Notes:(by tatsuca)
This is fourth time I visited this mountain this year.
Since there are various kinds of wildflowers bloom from early spring to autumn, it may not so boring visiting the same place if you are a wildflower lover.

From my house in Kichijoji, car is the quickest way to come here but on weekend days, Chuo highway to Tokyo is always very crowded in the afternoon. Also, I kind of want to hike the trail to Haha-no-shirataki, which I haven't walked before, but it's a little difficult to make a loop trip from the parking near Mt. Mitsugoge, so I planned this one using trains and buses.

The weather was not good enough to see the grand view of Mt. Fuji form the peak, but I found various wildflowers of autumn along the way. So the hike itself wasn't bad, bu the worst point was, the bus passed the BS I waited after hike because it was fully packed. (It sometimes happened in urban area during rush hours, but I didn't expect it happened in Kawaguchiko on Sunday afternoon. ) But it must be a good side-effect of the government's "tourism-oriented nation policy."

[Rating of the trail for middle-aged beginner hikers, like myself
* The keys used in my logs are in: http://mountrec.com/modules/diary/629-detail-455
- Required Stamina: Level 2 of 5. relatively easy.
- Difficulty: Level 1. No place to use hand
- Unnerving?: Level 1. The downhill from Shikisanso to Byobuiwa may be a little scary because the trail was a little damaged at spots.
Get lost? Level 2. The traces are clear, but there are a couple of confusing intersection with forest road, a map and a compass or GPS would be recommended.
- Photogenic? Level 2. If the weather is good enough to view Mt. Fuji, the level can be 3.
- Come again? Level 2. If you are interested in the wildflowers, the level could be 3.
- Comment: There are several courses to come this mountain using public transportation. I attach logs of my previous hikes from the Mitsutoge tozanguchi BS:
